Our focus is on developing 21st Century skills with the integrated learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) alongside English Communication skills. This preparation enables our students to succeed in school, at university and in their future careers.
The future jobs of those joining our school most likely do not exist today. What is clear is that for these careers there is a greater need for soft skills alongside an emphasis for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to thrive in our ever-changing 21st Century world.
21st Century Skills
21st Century skills must integrate the core skills that we apply to everyday tasks, an understanding of English, Maths, Science, ICT, and Finance. We believe we must develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, creativity, communication and collaboration skills, as it is these competencies that help us approach complex problems that face the world. Finally, to thrive in our changing environment we believe we must instil the character qualities of curiosity, initiative, persistence, adaptability, leadership and social and cultural awareness.
